After declining to speak at a Christian conservative gathering this week, Democrat presidential candidate Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., is facing pushback for previously speaking at an Illinois megachurch known for its biblical stance on sexuality and marriage.
The senator released last week 10 years’ worth of tax returns, which showed that he made about $1.7 million in speaking engagements over the course of five years from 2009 to 2013...

Conservatives Accuse Ohio Gov. John Kasich of Trying to ‘Score Political Points’ by Flipping on Transgender Policy

A conservative group is accusing Ohio Gov. John Kasich of trying to “score political points on the way out the door” by issuing an executive action this week to ban gender identity discrimination in state employment.
Kasich, the 66-year-old two-term governor and former Republican candidate for president, signed what has been reported as a “surprise” executive order on Wednesday afternoon just weeks before the end of his governorship.
The order bans state government agencies from discriminating against trans-identified people for employment.
The order effectively rescinds a 2011 order Kasich signed when he first got into office that removed gender identity from the state employment nondiscrimination policy enacted under former Democrat Gov. Ted Strickland in 2007.
Like past orders...

Wisconsin Judge Rules Town Must Provide Churches With Exemptions to Transgender Bathroom Ordinance

A Wisconsin judge has ruled that the town of De Pere must provide churches and religious organizations exemptions to an LGBT non-discrimination ordinance that among other things would have required them to allow access to bathrooms on the basis of a person’s gender identity.

Brown County Judge William Atkinson ruled last Friday that the ordinance barring employment, housing and public accommodation discrimination that protects on the basis of gender identity and sexual orientation cannot be applied to five churches and the parent company of a local Christian radio station.
Violation of the ordinance could have resulted in the churches and organization being issued a fine or infraction.
Even though the ruling was handed down last Friday, Atkinson’s written ruling has not yet been released...

Richard Land Says the 2 Christian Organizations Who Adopted Pro-LGBT Motions Have Compromised Their Biblical Integrity

A longtime theologian warns that two conservative Christian organizations have compromised their biblical integrity in a futile attempt to find common ground with homosexual activists.
The National Association of Evangelicals and the Council of Christian Colleges and Universities have both adopted a “Fairness for All” motion, which affirms biblical beliefs about marriage and sexuality but also denounces discrimination, along with violence and harassment, against homosexuals.
The Christian Post reports the NAE passed the motion in October while the Council announced a coming vote during the summer but did not announce a date.
A statement from the Council explaining its decision suggests the most “viable political strategy” is to combine religious freedom protections with “explicit support...

David Hoffman: How to Share the Gospel With LGBT People, Part 2

In Part One, I discussed that when ministering to people that identify as LGBT, it is important to not get stuck in a mental argument about sexual sin. Each person is morally accountable to God for all their sin. Each person needs a savior, and each person must let go of their sinful identity and become born again. In this article I will discuss specific analogies and scenarios I use to help convey the truth that any identity outside of Christ must be given up.
The following is what I share in each encounter I have with someone who identifies as LGBT. I have seen these analogies and scenarios be very successful in lovingly conveying the truth.
The first scenario I use is the following.
I will ask the person if they have ever “loved” anyone? The next question is if they have ever come to s...
